The Jena FullDome-Festival wants to encourage people from planetariums, fulldome theatres, universities, museums, creative artists, digital dancers, pioneers, vendors and visionaries to explore and embrace fulldome as an immersive art form, educational tool and mind altering experience for all the senses.
The grand opening of the 8th FullDome Festival on May 21st will feature a special theatrical performance (“Kometentanz”) in the dome of the Jena Planetarium. From May 22 to 24, full-length feature shows, short films and clips will be presented and assessed. Friday night, May 23 will feature creative productions by students from Germany and abroad. The festival brochure, to be published shortly before the Festival, will detail the whole program with shows, short films, student works and workshops.
Speakers include: Ben Shedd, Michael Naimark, David McConville and Ed Lantz.
The ix Symposium welcomes artists, researchers, educators, producers and distributors to share knowledge and experience about immersive and interactive technologies and about the art arising from them. It also welcomes broader audiences to world premieres of cutting edge digital works in Society for Arts and Technology’s dome, the Satosphere.
One of our fondest IMERSA Summit traditions is the presentation of selected fulldome and immersive content. This year we have time slots available for content that demonstrates good use of story and the dome and has broad appeal to the IMERSA community.
We are accepting the following types of content for the 2016 Summit:
* Full-length shows (for release dates after June 30, 2014)
* Shorts (for release dates after June 30, 2014)
* Work in production clips
* Work in development clips
You are invited to submit your content in these four categories for consideration. Our robust selection process gathers input from advisors, contributors and delegates to identify pieces for presentation. Deadline for submission is January 15, 2016, finalists will be announced February 1st, and we must have your dome masters on hand by February 15, 2016.
