Kate McCallum

Kate McCallum, is a forward-thinking producer, writer, and digital arts & media strategist with an emphasis in IP development, transmedia. immersive, and new media technology platforms. She's also a member of the TV Academy and serves on the Producers Guild of America National Board and New Media Council Board.

New Media Council (NMC), garnered 20+ years of experience at Universal and Paramount working in production and development of feature films, primetime broadcast and cable television with some of the top showrunners and writers in the business (Equalizer, Law & Order, Miami Vice, The Marshall, TV MOW What Kind of Mother Are You? and others). This experience provided Kate with considerable knowledge of scripted storytelling and intellectual property development as she entered into new media. She was hired in 2006 as VP of Programming for an innovative visual music VoD channel featured on Comcast, where she acquired and licensed hundreds of hours of content, produced for the channel, and launched a boutique music label, The Art of Sound. She then took a slight detour to work with Maestro Placido Domingo and the LA Opera prior to starting her own media development company, Bridge Arts Media, LLC.

Currently, Kate specializes in 360 fulldome immersive content development and production, with fellow Producers Guild of America NMC member Ed Lantz, at Vortex Immersion Media. Vortex creates 360 immersive brand experiences, interactive media, projection mapping, VR and works with other emerging entertainment technologies. Kate also writes, produces and consults as a specialist in "transmedia" and cross platform storytelling and was contracted to chair, design and program two new entertainment business conferences focusing on story+tech, transmedia and cross platform storytelling, branded content and emerging tech ��� and she was recently invited to speak and teach master classes in Singapore and Hong Kong at the HKDI.
