RUTH COALSON
Director
Ruth Coalson is a globally recognised executive producer and strategic consultant who has spent over 25 years at the cutting edge of immersive media — from fulldome cinema and large-format film to VR, AR, and next-generation LED venues. She doesn't just understand this industry; she has helped shape it.
For companies and artists looking to break into new markets, scale their reach, or bring bold creative visions to life, Ruth is the partner who makes it happen. Her track record spans funding acquisition, international distribution, sales and marketing strategy, and end-to-end project management — delivering results for clients ranging from the UK Space Agency and Google Lunar XPrize to Ferrari World and Disney-Marvel.
Ruth's proprietary VR production platform, Festoon, is a testament to her instinct for innovation. Purpose-built for animators and creatives in the fulldome sector, Festoon eliminates the traditional barriers of dome-dependent production — enabling remote review and edit workflows through customisable environments, and fundamentally changing how immersive content gets made.
Her content expertise runs deep. Ruth has championed the production and distribution of more than fifteen award-winning fulldome films, most recently the multi-award-winning Moonbase – The Next Step. As freelance Project Manager for Astro Assemble — a landmark Disney-Marvel STEM initiative with the Royal Observatory Greenwich — she managed expert advisory panels, ensured rigorous scientific accuracy, and delivered a national, gamified learning platform designed to inspire the next generation of scientists and space explorers.
Her strategic counsel is trusted at the highest levels of the immersive entertainment industry. Ruth currently advises on content strategy and development for Sphere and Cosm venues across the United States — the most ambitious large-format immersive venues on the planet — while her decade-long leadership at NSC Creative (National Space Centre) helped transform the studio into an internationally distributed, award-winning powerhouse.
Ruth serves on the board of IMERSA and the membership board of the International Planetarium Society (IPS) — positions that reflect not just her standing in the field, but her commitment to elevating the entire industry.
Whether you're an artist seeking a creative and commercial champion, a business ready to scale in immersive markets, or an organisation looking to bring a high-impact project to life — Ruth Coalson delivers.
